S261 is an USB2.0 interface controller providing single chip solutions for mobile storage devices, such as USB flash disk and U-KEY. etc. S261 is designed with a dual-core structure providing amazing flexibility for a firmware engineer to realize some fantastic functions. It has been widely applied in systems as followings:
The S261 is a high performance controller for USB flash disks with good compatibility of today’s most updated NANO flash memory chips. The Channel processor runs flash management algorithms including wear-leveling, homogeneous, and error correction (ECC) hardware engine. It also guarantees high reliability as well as good performance: Sequential Read Speed up to 35MB/S, Sequential Write Speed up to 30MB/S.
Additinally, S261 is an USB card reader to bridge memory card or module, including SD. MMC and eMMC, to a host computer’s USB Port. Furthermore, it can work as a port multiplier to combine multiple cards or modules into a USB mobile disk with higher capacity.
Finally, the S261 is a distinguishing controller for data security applications. Data stored on a USB disk with S261 on-board can be protected from un-authorized access. There are some successful data secured USB flash disk products such as SageMicro’s MeDisk® in mass production. S261 had also been proven good solutions for USB security device such as USB- Key which popular applied in protecting bank account.
